Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck

This authentic gem is a staple on nearly any list of Oahu's food trucks.

Giovanni’s Original White Shrimp Truck, easily recognized by its exterior adorned with a multitude of signatures and well-wishes from countless patrons over its almost three decades of service, has become an icon. One of its two vehicles even made an appearance on a 2011 episode of "Man vs Food."

Famed for its masterful preparation of four traditional Hawaiian dishes: lemon butter shrimp, shrimp scampi, hot and spicy shrimp, and, breaking slightly from the theme, a jumbo garlic hot dog, Giovanni’s has carved out a reputation for excellence. The shrimp scampi, in particular, is renowned as the jewel in their crown and the most sought-after item on the menu.

Both trucks are stationed permanently along the Kamehameha Highway, one located in Kahuku (56-505) and the other in Haleiwa (66-472).

Leonard’s Malasada Mobile

Rejoice, for it truly exists: the unparalleled Leonard's Bakery, a name you've likely seen on other compilations of Oahu's culinary delights, operates not one but four Malasada Mobiles.

Suppose you're familiar with our definitive guide to malasadas. In that case, you'll remember that Leonard's stands as a pillar in the realm of Hawaiian malasadas, boasting the most significant legacy and being the oldest bakery of its kind. While we wholeheartedly suggest visiting the original bakery, now over 70 years old, for those unable to, encountering one of their four mobile units offers an equally extraordinary opportunity to indulge in these exceptionally delicious confections.

Each truck location's operating days and hours vary, but you can find all the necessary details to locate the nearest Malasada Mobile here.

Haleiwa Bowls

Exploring a tropical paradise like Hawaii naturally ignites a desire for the vast selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and other organically produced delights. The ideal scenario involves discovering these culinary treasures at their peak freshness.

One of the premier spots to experience this is Haleiwa Bowls. While their main attraction is the acai bowl, they also offer smoothies, coffee, and tea. Here, you'll encounter a variety of invigorating options crafted from fresh, natural ingredients: strawberries, pineapples, bananas, pomegranate seeds, granola, an array of botanical supplements, and much more.

Situated, unsurprisingly, in Haleiwa along the Kamehameha Highway (66-030), Haleiwa Bowls welcomes visitors every day from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

Impossibles Pizza

Impossibles Pizza in Haleiwa blends the allure of a food truck with the enchantment of a traveling magic show, astonishingly producing custom wood-fired pizzas directly in its mobile kitchen.

The method behind their culinary wizardry remains a closely held secret, yet there's no denying the authenticity and mouthwatering quality of their wood-fired pizzas. Devotees frequently assert that if you're craving pizza, there's no need to look elsewhere. With options ranging from Kalua Pig Pineapple to Jalapeno Artichoke, or even your own unique creation, this truck is unparalleled in satisfying your pizza desires.

Experience the magic of Impossibles Pizza on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 3 PM and 8 PM. Find this culinary spectacle parked at 59-719 Kamehameha Highway.

Mike’s Huli-Huli Chicken

Rounding out our list, but by no means the least, is Mike’s Huli-Huli Chicken, a food truck that has garnered widespread attention across the state and boasts the esteemed title of “best Huli chicken in Hawaii.”

This culinary hotspot has caught the eye of Guy Fieri, featured on an episode of "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives," and was also spotlighted on "Food Paradise." Beyond its delectably cooked chicken over Kiawe wood, Mike’s enchants, with its homemade sauces and seasonings, are capable of elevating the cooking game of any aspiring kitchen wizard.

You can visit Mike’s flagship truck, serving up culinary delights from 11 AM to 7 PM daily, located at 56-565 Kamehameha Highway in Kahuku.

Whatever you’re craving, Oahu has a renowned food truck nearby to blow your mind and quench your hunger. Mahalo and enjoy your meal!
