Kailua Beach Park is a beautiful spot on Oahu's eastern (windward) shoreline. Additionally, it has the perfect combination of powder-soft sand, tall ironwood trees, and turquoise-blue waters. The beach falls between two other beaches, north of Lanikai Beach and south of Kalama Beach Park.
Kailua Beach Park is a beautiful beach for water sports, including kayaking and windsurfing. Those interested in water sports usually enter the water near the center and north end of the Kailua shore.

Hence, consider renting a car. Kailua is only 12 miles from Waikiki and about a 30-minute drive over the Pali Highway.

Kailua Beach Park offers plenty of activities to keep you and your family entertained, including kayaking, stand-up paddling, and kitesurfing. Also, your children will enjoy the powdery soft, white sand and the azure-blue, calm waters. Small children who may want to swim in the ocean should enter it near the boat ramp and around where the stream enters into the sea (on the beach's southern end). Those areas have a lifeguard on duty.

Go kayaking: Kailua Beach is a popular spot for kayaking, thanks to its proximity to several islands and calm waters. Inexperienced kayakers, take a chance and experience the beauty of the Mokulua Islands and the Windward Coastline on a fun guided kayak tour! Kayakers can paddle their way to Flat Island or Mokulua Islands.

Watch them on their canoes: Kailua Bay is home to one of the country's most competitive canoe racing clubs. Watch them as they race on their canoes.

Hike to Lanikai Pillbox: Enjoy this popular and exciting hike that offers stunning views of Lanikai Beach, Kailua Town, and the Koʻolau coast. History buffs will enjoy the set of leftover army bunkers at the top. The one-mile trek to the pillboxes is short but steep, making it a great hiking experience for everyone. The trailhead begins behind the Lanikai neighborhood.

Visit Lanikai Beach: If you're looking for a stunning beach to relax on, Lanikai Beach is the place to go! It is rated among the best beaches in the world, and it's located next door to Kailua Beach, less than a mile down the road.

Stroll downtown Kailua area: Kailua is great for its charming architecture, good restaurants, and easy access to the beach. There are several lovely shops in the area and some great restaurants you'll enjoy. It is only a five-minute drive from Lanikai Beach.
