Located on 50 immaculately landscaped acres and built into the hillside overlooking Keoneloa Bay, the Grand Hyatt Kauai is internationally recognized, and one of the Best Luxury Hotels on Kauai.  It was chosen by Conde Naste Traveler in 2014 as “one of the best in the world for excellence in accommodations, service and amenities”.  With 602 freshly renovated guest rooms, and infinite amenities, the AAA Four-Diamond island retreat caters for everyone from honeymooners seeking a tranquil hideaway and families looking for a broad range of services and activities; to companies seeking the perfect location for conferences, meetings or retreats.

Open-air walkways lead to lovely courtyards and lush gardens, and the overall design of the resort blends beautifully with the natural environment.  The four-story low-rise design slopes gently down to meandering lagoons, a stunning 500-yard white sand beach, and the sea.  Elegantly designed and infused with the essence of romance, yet alive with friendly hospitality, its architecture is reminiscent of a 1930s Hawaii, cultivating a unique ‘sense of place’.  Spacious guestrooms, each with a private lanai, provide the perfect environment to step into another world, relax and enjoy the soft ocean breezes, with views to the sea, gardens or pools.

The most wonderful aspect of the Grant Hyatt is the broad range of amenities and services available.  There is plenty of scope for getting adventurous – with a championship 18-hole golf course, tennis, volleyball, mountain biking, surfing, scuba diving, zip lining or kayaking tours available – or for doing nothing at all - just lounging in the tropical gardens or enjoying the stunning pools.  The close proximity to a gorgeous beach, as well as the fact that the resort features one of the largest and most beautifully landscaped pools on the island make the Grand Hyatt an essential destination.  The “action” pool boasts a magnificent 150-foot water slide, with a river run that allows you to float downstream on a 3 mph current.  There is a quieter, adult-only pool, as well as an expansive sand bottomed ocean front salt water pool which is perfect for a dip when the ocean surf is high.   Numerous jacuzzis are tucked away in secluded pockets of the meandering pool.  Also, the main pool is heated by reclaiming the hot air from the air-conditioning units, as part of the Hyatt’s efforts to reduce their overall environmental footprint.  Other initiatives include solar panels that form the roof of a parking lot, providing a small portion of the resort power supply.  Recycling is encouraged and the hotel has a 50% diversion rate for all of its waste.  Food waste is donated to local livestock farmers.   There is also a hydroponic lettuce farm that provides lettuce for salads at the restaurants.  Tours of the farm are offered each Tuesday.

There are a variety of culinary delights to savor, with seven restaurants and cocktail lounges on the property.  Seaview Terrace is a great place for families and serves a continental breakfast daily, then dinner until 10pm each night.  Stevenson’s Library is the late night lounge spot, with a Sushi Bar and live music 8-11pm, featuring contemporary Hawaiian and Jazz.  Dondero’s Italian Restaurant is open for dinner only (closed Sunday/Monday), and the Captains Bar is a poolside lounge situated in the adult pool area.  The Grand Hyatt's signature restaurant Tidepools is fabulous – it has a most unique ambience, set in a thatched roof bungalow over a koi lagoon.  The restaurant serves fresh fish & steak with an island flair.  At the resort, a traditional Lu’au is offered on Thursday and Sunday evenings, which includes a sumptuous feast, featuring traditional Hawaiian foods, and fabulous entertainment.  Other entertainment includes live music at Seaview Terrace nightly from 6-9pm.  A keiki hula show is performed at the same location on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.  Kids are well cared for, with Camp Hyatt day care facility that offers a kaleidoscope of daily themed activities including computers, arts and crafts, hula, lei-making, games, movies and supervised outdoor activities.  For the children (and big kids!) there is a parrot time with the resident birds at 10am Tuesday through Thursday.  Monday and Friday the Wildlife specialists lead a Wildlife Walk that explores the fauna at the resort from Nene geese to black swans, and Radjah Shelducks to the colorful parrots.

Relax, refresh and recharge with a visit to the Anara Spa - the largest and most elegant spa on Kauai.  In 2014, Conde Naste Traveler named Anara one of the top 5 spas in Hawaii.  Featuring ancient healing traditions to bring balance and rejuvenation to the body and spirit, Anara Spa boasts a full service salon, a unique skin care range, a 24-hour StayFit gym as well as yoga and fitness classes.  Massages, facials and body treatments are offered in elegantly appointed treatment rooms – each with a private patio garden.  Specialized packages for couples and honeymooners are available, and each spa visit includes the use of all facilities including a 25-yard lap pool, outdoor hot tubs, outdoor lava rock shower, dry sauna and steam rooms.  Destination weddings are popular at the resort, and the Grand Hyatt offers a variety of options to design your perfect day.  Stunning gazebos with ocean views, as well as beach weddings can be tailored to suit the needs of any couple, with two professional on site wedding coordinators available.  The Grand Hyatt caters extraordinarily well to any meeting, banquet, conference or event, with nineteen meeting rooms and a 14,200 square-foot Grand Ballroom, as well as many additional spaces totaling 65,000 square feet of outdoor and indoor space dedicated to making your event outstanding.  The resort also features 12,000 square feet of retail shops, offering fashion apparel, fine art and jewelry, gifts and sundries.  Not only does the Grand Hyatt offer a broad spectrum of activities, services and restaurant options to suit all tastes, one of its most attractive features is that even when the hotel is in full capacity, the grounds still have a feeling of quiet spaciousness, which can be attributed to its wide layout across the ocean front.  If you are looking for 5 star quality and elegance in a resort that has it all, look no further than Grand Hyatt Resort and Spa Kauai.
