From the thunderous pounding of world famous Wailua Falls to the gentle trickle of a series of bucolic cascades on a pristine river, Kauai boasts numerous Waterfalls. The Hawaiian word for waterfall; Waipuanani translates to mean “heavenly water flower”.
The NaPali coast has literally dozens of amazing waterfalls, some of which are accessible to an intrepid hiker. Hanakapiai Falls, the waterfalls at Waiahuakua and Hanakoa, and multiple waterfalls in Kalalau Valley are some of the more prominent falls on the island. The waterfall on Honopu Beach is also spectacular. Waimea Canyon also has its share of dramatic waterfalls in the upper reaches of the side canyons and the crown jewel of them all is the “weeping wall” of Waialeale which was dubbed the “Blue Hole” by the helicopter pilots who buzz around the skies of Kauai.
