Makai Music & Art Festival
The Makai Music & Art Festival in Princeville is a classic way to spend the afternoon with family and friends. There are always plenty of local vendors selling art, clothing, jewelry, and more in a beautiful outdoor setting on the Makai Lawn. Plus, there’s always live music and - we never tire of saying it - free parking!

Culture to Canvas
This unique and tasteful event pairs wine with painting for a genuinely sophisticated evening. Guided instruction means you’ll have a good time even if you have no prior experience painting, and no matter what, you’ll get to leave with your work of art to symbolize what is sure to be a positive memory from your travels.

Small Work || Big Show
Another unique art-related event to check out this January in Kauai is Small Work || Big Show - so named because all the locally-created art pieces are 20 inches by 20 inches or smaller. In a land where you have to leave by plane, this is a boon for those seeking souvenirs or gifts for loved ones! There will be plenty to choose from, too. In addition to paintings, you’ll find photography, sculptures, stained glass, and more.

Old Koloa Town Market
One of the coolest farmer’s markets happening anywhere in Hawaii, the Old Koloa Town Market pairs fresh local produce with one of the state’s most historic and intriguing small towns. Expect plenty of food trucks, desserts, and local restaurants nearby. There will also be live music and booths with local artisans selling their wares - always unique to each month the market takes place.
When: Saturday, January 21st, 4 PM - 8 PM

Aloha Friday Art Nights on Kress Street
If you’re in Lihue on a Friday night, be sure to visit Kress Street and check out the array of art that will on display there. Hosted by Kauai Murals, this art showcase has a twist - the artists will be actively creating the work while you’re there. Simply described as “live art,” this is a fun way to witness the creative process firsthand while also admiring the work and the lovely central location in Kauai’s capital.
