2022 Events and Festivities

Mookuauhau o ha Lahui-Kauai Ancestral Stories

For a chance to hear entertaining and illuminating stories from some of Hawaii’s leading historians and cultural educators, you’ll want to visit Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihue on June 2nd. Mookuauhau o ha Lahui-Kauai Ancestral Stories will make for both an intellectually stimulating and poetically inspiring evening. 

When: Thursday, June 2nd, 4 PM - 9 PM

Kauai Pride Parade & Festival

On the first Saturday of the month of June, Kauai will take part in the celebration of Pride. First, there will be a parade down Rice Street in Lihue from 9 to 10. Following the parade, there will be a festival from 10 to 2, with live performances, food trucks, face painting, and henna.

When: Saturday, June 4th, 9 AM - 2 PM

Soto Zen Bon Festival

Dating back 5 generations and representing Hawaii’s rich Japanese American heritage, the Soto Zen Bon Festival is a celebratory showcase of Bon Dance culture. This multi-day event will be held at the Soto Zen Temple in Hanapepe. Music and dancing will abound! This is a wonderful opportunity to both rejoice and learn.

When: June 15th - June 19th, 12 PM - 5 PM

Kauai Hoops Classic

June will also be a notable month for basketball in Kauai. That’s because the Kauai Hoops Classic will take place from June 23rd to June 26th at various gyms around the island. This, too, is something of a festival - a festival of youth basketball.

Healing Horses Horsemanship Camp

One of the most unique and intriguing events coming to Kauai this June is the Horsemanship Camp at Healing Horses in Kapaa. As their name implies, Healing Horses provides equine therapy for kids ages 4 to 18. Masks will still be required, and the number of participants will be limited.  

When: June 6th - June 10th, 8:30 AM - 2 PM

Kauai Autocross

On Sunday morning, June 19th, Vidinha Stadium in Lihue will be alive with a chorus of revving engines and squealing tires. That’s because it will be the site of Kauai Autocross, a must-see event for any car enthusiast. 

When: Sunday, June 19th, 9 AM

Where: Hoolako St, Lihue (Vidinha Stadium)
