2022 Events and Festivities

April in Maui is all about live performances. Part of that is because it is JazzMaui’s official jazz appreciation month, entailing numerous events to celebrate the history and cultural contributions behind the musical genre. If you like jazz or live music/performances in general, April is the month on Maui for you.

Below is our guide to some of the hottest events currently on the calendar. As previously, we still recommend keeping a close eye on these as the dates approach - sadly, we’re still not all the way back to normal and events may change last minute. We’ve provided links/resources to help you stay easily updated.

Without further ado, here are the best events and festivals coming to Maui in April 2022.

The first in JazzMaui’s series of April events, this obviously enticing event will be held on Sunday, April 3rd at the Maui Ku’ia Chocolate Factory in Lahaina. An Evening with Smokey Robinson

For the first time ever - yes, ever - the one and only Smokey Robinson will be performing live in Maui this April.

One of the most important figures in Motown and subsequent musical history, Robinson will appear at the A&B Amphitheater/Yokouchi Pavilion on April 15th. The event was originally scheduled for January but was moved to April due to COVID-19 concerns - so naturally, keep an eye on this one just in case.

For now, April stands as a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see a true legend in a live debut. If you’re a music fan, you can’t afford to miss it.

When: Friday, April 15th, 7:30 PM
Where: A&B Amphitheater/Yokouchi Pavilion, 1 Cameron Way, Kahului
More Info: Maui Arts & Cultural Center

6th Annual Wahine Comedy Festival

This unique event is a chance to see some of Hawaii’s best female comedians live. The event will be held at Da Playground in Wailuku.

When: Wednesday, April 13th, 8 PM

We hope you found this to be a helpful starting point for planning your April Maui visit! Mahalo, and enjoy the music!
