Lahaina Banyan Tree 150th Birthday Celebration

Hawaii is home to some old, old stuff - uniquely beautiful phenomena that extend their roots deep down through many generations. It is hard to imagine something more emblematic of this than the banyan tree in Lahaina, which, this year, turns a whopping 150 years old.

To celebrate, the town of Lahaina is throwing their beloved tree a birthday party! Befitting of such an old, mysterious host, the Lahaina banyan tree’s birthday parties are the stuff of legend. Live music, games, birthday cake - even magicians are said to have performed at past parties and may do so again.
